Terms and conditions
(Please ensure that you read and understand these conditions.)
1. Contract: A contract agreement is considered once client approves the work between clients and Website4u.
Important: Acceptance of terms and conditions outlined is indicated by work commencing and payment of the advance fee.
2. Website4u Copyright: Intellectual copyright will be held by Website4u for any material, including any source code and original images created for the client until payment of the final invoice.
At this time we will transfer this intellectual copyright to the client.
3. If agreed upon, a link to Website4u will be placed on the client’s website.
4. Clients Responsibilities with Regard to Copyright: Where clients provide images, text, animations or any other form of content for their website, they are legally responsible for ensuring that this material does not infringe any copyright. Some images provided by Website4u may be purchased where they may be licensed for use on a single website. The client or website owner is legally responsible for ensuring that the material is not used as publicity material.
5. Registration Charges: Costs will be met by clients for all third party costs deriving from registration of domain name. Where we have registered a domain name of the client’s behalf, this will be transferred to the client immediately upon request and without charge.
6. Cancellation: During process, if client wishes to cancel, they will be liable for any work carried out and shall be invoiced accordingly.
7. Website Content: Website4u is a small business and therefore to remain efficient and work on schedule we ask you provide all content in advance. If we cannot progress due to lack of information provided we reserve the right to impose a surcharge of up to 15%. If agreement of information is given but not delivered to us within four weeks of commencing we reserve the right to close the project and the balance remaining becomes payable immediately.
NB: Where possible text content should be in Microsoft Word format (or similar).
8. Conceptualising: Preferred colours, design requirements, fonts etc. should be given beforehand. The target time frame for receiving these requirements is normally two weeks.
9. Quotations: Agreed price, is that of the quotation given. Any changes required may have
additional charges, according to negotiation.
10. Advance Payment: 50% of the total cost is required in advance before work can commence.
After work commences this is non-refundable.
11. Payment terms: Payment is currently accepted by cheque or bankers draft in UK Pounds Sterling, unless otherwise agreed. Cheques returned by the bank as unpaid for any reason, will be liable for a "returned cheque" charge of £25.
12. Payment: Payment of any balance is due within 30 days of final invoice date. Full publication of the Web Pages will only take place after full payment has been received. If payment is not received we will be liable to remove any work we have completed for you.
13. Late Payment: If within 7 days of final reminder accounts are not settled you will incur a late payment charge of 10% of the amount outstanding.
14. Future Support: Any future support required, will be seen as separate work and will have a separate quote price.
15. Future Site Problems: We cannot be held responsible for problems that develop on completed sites as a result of illegal activity.
By agreeing to these terms and conditions your statutory rights are not affected.
